 Kids Yoga/Mindfulness

Kids’ yoga classes are light hearted and fun. Just like we would in an adult yoga class, we focus on movement of the spine, breath and awareness, but we do so by engaging in fun activities, music, games and storytelling. This makes yoga accessible to all learning styles and all ages. The end goal is for the children to leave feeling relaxed and more aware of themselves.

These lessons can be done as a group or as a private lesson. For schools and organizations special arrangement might be available.

1 Hour Pranayama/Breathing Class

Do you inhale and exhale slowly and fully? Are you aware of your breath? According to experts most people breathe at only 10-20% of their full capacity. Being stressed out, over worked, over committed and overstimulated, can result in shallow, fast breath. All of this will deplete your body from oxygen, reduce your energy levels, and limit proper body functions.

Breathing is the only conscious way to improve, maintain and repair the other unconsciously run systems in our body, such as the heart rate, blood pressure, circulation, digestion and hormone secretion. Keep reading below for class details.

Pranayama is always an integrated part of yoga, but for some it might be necessary to take a deeper look at the breath, reconnect and be taught techniques for day-to-day.

In this class we will assess your breath, identify breathing habits, such as mouth-breathing, shallow breath or hyperventilation. We will go through different breathing techniques, with pauses between each, and begin to bring awareness to the breath.

1 Hour Guided Meditation

At Pure Being we offer guided meditations for individuals and groups. There are numerous techniques and the meditation can be focused on a vast number of things. Mindfulness is a ``directed-focus`` style of meditation. We attempt to bring our full attention to the present moment. Meditation is a skill that takes time and work to master – like a muscle that needs to be exercised in order to grow. Directing our attention to a specific focus –

for example; breath, chakras, heart-centered, based on a body-scan, or be purely for relaxation. We focus on introducing meditation in a non-intimidating way, awakening your mindfulness muscle, and bringing you to a calm and peaceful place.
